application

I'm working on the lesson for the 18th. I noticed a lot of the topics are things we talk about during the missionary discussions. The principles are basic. Knowing them isn't the hard part. The Nephites knew them. That's not why Moroni wrote them on his cloak. It was the application of those principles that was failing. 

I had the opportunity to be part of a missionary lesson again today. We talked about principles of the gospel, but then we talked about experiences actually applying those principles. That's when things changed. Our friend saw how the principles had been applied and the difference that made. It became real. 

As president Packer used to say, "Therefore, what?" How does this apply? That's where it makes a difference.
