All of these references to being washed in the blood of the lamb keep reminding me of an Easter object lesson. The sacrament prayers were directly related to the suffering, crucifixion, death, tomb, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

There were symbols for things and one was a piece of paper with a drop of red paint. I keep seeing that paper with that red drop. I've seen a lot of mortal blood as a klutz and a mother. That single, symbolic drop is seared into my brain though.
